Program Background

Rigid vinyl (including vinyl siding) is designed to be recycled, and consumers, contractors, collection sites and recyclers have joined the Revinylize Recycling Collaborative™ to help build a more sustainable future. Municipalities, nonprofit organizations, sponsors and members of the Polymeric Exterior Products Association (PEPA) have also joined forces to promote the Revinylize mission.

Over the last 20 years, vinyl siding has been the leading exterior cladding used for new home construction. Today, vinyl siding can be found on one out of every four U.S. homes. This number is expected to increase as homeowners prioritize energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Vinyl siding is one of the most recyclable exteriors on the market, and as many homes were built more than 30-40 years ago, vinyl siding may reach its useful life and performance cycle. Post-consumer polymeric materials present enormous opportunities for economic development, greater sustainability and reduced carbon footprint.

Join the Revinylize Recycling Collaborative today and help us close the loop on the lifecycle of vinyl products. All participating Recyclers in Revinylize are verified by GreenCircle Certified, a leading 3rd-party certification group included in Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly Program.
